Rough Night stars Scarlett Johansson, Jillian Bell, Kate McKinnon, Zoe Kravitz and Ilana Glazer as a group of girlfriends who reunite in Miami for a bachelorette party, only to accidentally kill a male-stripper amidst their hard-partying. ‘Hangover’ and ‘Very Bad Things’ comparisons aside, Rough Night sets up a fun premise with a cast of very talented actresses, who are all energetic and fun to watch. That being said, the film is unfortunately too afraid to “go there” with it’s oddball premise and tends to fallback on cliches seen in these “party comedies”. As soon as this male stripper walks through the door, it’s painfully obvious how the rest of the film will play out, and it decides to take the easy way out. There are enough lines and gags that kept me laughing throughout, making the experience a mildly enjoyable, albeit not very memorably one.
